Vintage Notes

Growing Season

The 2025 growing season in the Barossa Valley began with early frosts that affected the early development of the vines, leading to reduced yields in certain areas. This was followed by a drier-than-usual season, which further stressed the vines but ultimately resulted in concentrated fruit. The warm days and cool nights throughout the growing period allowed the vines to recover and ripen the remaining fruit steadily. Despite the challenging conditions, the fruit quality was exceptional. The dry conditions, combined with the cooler nights, helped maintain acidity and preserve the freshness of the fruit, while the warmer days allowed for optimal ripening. This produced fruit with concentrated flavors, balanced tannins, and great potential. While the early frosts and drier year posed challenges, the resilience of the Barossa Valley vineyards allowed us to achieve a vintage that reflects both the adversity and the exceptional quality of the region.
